Installation of Cedar Groove Shingles
Roof pitch shall be a 4:12 (1-in-3) slope.
Underlayment is of nailable water proof membrane.
It shall be laid up the roof from tile eave line to the ridge
Starter course shall be two layers of shingles extending 1½” beyond the fascia board.
Shingles are approximately ¼” apart.
The joints in between are offset to a minimum 1½” between adjacent courses.
It is not in direct alignment in alternate courses.
Each shingle is fastened with two fasteners positioned approximately ¾” from each edge
Special ridges alternately are laid with underlay

Imported Galvanised nails (as per the picture) with minimum 1” length is used for installation
Installation is done by trained technician
Nails are driven through with imported pneumatic nailing gun machines
Cedar Wood Shingles Installed on Truss
The Shingles can be laid directly on the Purlins, so that it is seen from inside also
The Purlins must be in wood and 1.5” x 1.5”
The centre to centre distance between the purlins must be 7.5”
On a steel truss Stuctural Board or Marine Ply can be laid and the Shingles can be installed on them after laying the water proof membrane
Wooden Planks can also be laid on the truss, and shingles can be installed on them
